Our focus in design is being respectful of nature and the environment. Therefore, we designed this resort around and integrated it with the hundreds of coconut trees on site. Additionally, we only had to move 10 trees to a new location. By doing so, we made the coconut trees the main concept and feature of this project.
The Samalas Resort is a 4-star boutique resort. It provides a very tropical sense and atmosphere throughout the entire design. Meanwhile, we designed the public spaces outside-in and inside-out. In addition to that, we planned 60 spacious rooms with balconies and lots of daylight from both sides. Also, 5 tranquil private villas with 1 or 2 bedrooms and a large living room are located at the bottom of the site providing maximum privacy.
The Public facilities will have a tropical experience. Firstly, the spaces have large and open areas. Secondly, outdoor spaces for public activities are all around the project. And thirdly, we are using rough and natural materials to define the spaces throughout the facilities. By doing so, we want to achieve a very tropical and down-to earth feel.
The resort will be offering a lot of facilities to the guests. To start with, a four-room SPA facility with an internal Sauna. In addition, a spacious Yoga and private gym facility. On top of that, a five-star Restaurant with outdoor dining facilities. Each of the spaces has its own unique atmosphere and a way to enjoy the tropics and local landscape.
The Design of the Villas are representing a traditional village-like feel. To achieve this, nature will be surrounding the villas. Also, the hissing of the coconut trees will be the soundtrack of this village. Additionally, we approached the villas to have a completely private feel. By doing so, we are giving the guests a tropical story to tell.
